Why Photography Still Resets My Brain

Why photography still feels like the cleanest context switch I have.

Most of my LinkedIn has no idea I photographed events with over 7,000 people.

Secret life unlocked, I guess.

While everyone here knows me as the "Chief Everything Guy", not many have seen me running around with a camera, dodging confetti cannons and trying not to trip over cables in front of a stage.

Wild times.

While I don't do it often nowadays, every time I pick up the camera again, my brain does a full reboot. Coding, product, business, gone. Suddenly I’m chasing light, not deadlines. I get creative again.

It’s like switching from debug mode to "let’s make cool stuff" mode.

I think everyone needs a thing like this. A total context switch. Something that zaps you out of your main hustle and hits the reset button.

For me, that’s photography.

For you, maybe it’s painting, running, or competitive pancake flipping.

Either way, I think it matters more than most of us admit.
